Perfect Imperfection

How do you perfect an imperfection?

"As long as we are persistence in our pursuit of our deepest destiny, we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day or time when we will fully bloom. It happens in its own time." - Denis Waitley

I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, taken for granted a lot of people, wasted time...

I deserve a better me

I deserve a second chance, a third, a fourth...until I learn what I'm supposed to learn

This is my second chance...

The first Chinatown in Riverside

I went to the Historic Downtown Riverside in Riverside, California to check out that Chinese Pavilion in the heart of downtown.

I found out that this Chinese Pavilion was built in 1985 in honor of the Chinese settlers during the 19th century that contributed to the "development of agriculture, transportation and commerce" of Riverside.

The location was known to be the first "Chinatown" in Riverside, although you wouldn't see a lot of Chinese businesses nowadays in the surrounding area compared to the vibrant Chinatown in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Now it stands as a monument, garden and landscape.

Doesn't it remind you of the "Paifang" or symbolic archways commonly found in Asia? that marks the beginning of your walk to a Temple or Courtyard.

So this is me pretending to be somewhere in Asia...Japan or China perhaps? Anyway its free to travel in my dreams...

Chasing the Zen in gardening

Does the garden intimate the Zen?

A composition of rocks, pruned trees and bushes, gravel or sand imitating ripples of water. Representing nature's grand landscape into a confined space.

Or is it the mind and body that defines the meaning from within the garden?

The essence of tranquility, calmness and meditation associated with this art.

I'm still chasing that Zen.

Two path walks in the midst of the garden, a crossroad...and a pathway around the garden..like a garden within a garden.

To choose a path...

or stay in the crossroad

...or take endless steps along the pathway around the garden...

This is my Zen.

Namaste.
