Dia de Los Muertos

Today is the celebration of  Dia de Los Muertos. In other cultures, it's All Souls Day, whichever region or religion you coming from, it is the Day of the Dead.

This is Dia de Los Muertos celebration at Rose Hills Cemetery

I'm assuming the departed is a Packers fan...

The celebration of the Dia de Los Muertos here in the States, may have started way back in the 1990's.

Altars are created, remembering loved ones who has passed away, adorned with flowers and favorite food, pictures and some possessions of the departed. This family loves Goya!

It is a public holiday in Mexico, where it is highly celebrated.

Women adorn themselves like Catrina,   a popular figure in the Day of the Dead celebration

Some say the celebration has evolved from it's traditional essence, into an artistic celebration, sometimes political statements.

Today I saw two families coming together remembering the departed as family and a friend...

Even the undead needs a resting place...

Just another day for the living and undead...
